Why I'm learning to code...
I was first interested in making web-sites in 6th and 7th grade and began by teaching myself HTML and a little VB––then I moved to California and started skateboarding and got distracted for 15 years. During that time I also became a musician and more recently have become obsessed with photography.
Coding has the potential to work collaboratively with any one of my other pursuits/passions and that's the great thing about it. This technology is not a means to its own end, but rather tools to expand the possibilities of any other endeavor in the world.

On the day we started using Bootstrap at Epicodus, my partner Cameron and I whipped up this little web site about vacationing to an extraordinary place: Faroe Islands
The design turned out quite nice and I was impressed by how useful Bootstrap can be!

A simple exercise from my first week at Epicodus
During my first week at Epicodus I made a lot of simple webpage exercises with my pair partners and this one turned out rather nice. It has a sleek, minimal design which vaguely recalls an early modern aesthetic.
Notably there is a great little y-axis repeating background image which adds a bit of interest to the design–– vaguely reminiscent of the Twilight Zone!
(Levi and I used this code to make the background work) :)

A simple photo gallery showcasing two tours I went on
During the summer of 2015 I travelled the country twice. My band Coma Serfs tour for one whole month going to NYC and back. Very fun. Then I was only home for one week before I joined Jackson Boone on tour for another month-long US tour.
